Job Description

Position Summary:

Contributes to the efficient operation of the company by providing exceptional customer service to clients using excellent communication/follow-up skills, pleasant attitude at all times, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

1) Learn and practice Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Safety Procedures established for the department and Company.

2) Ensure that correct raw materials are pulled and weighed accurately for each Manufacturing Batch Record.

3) Process all products using proper procedures as described in the Manufacturing Batch Record.

4) Ensure that the correct screen size, knife configuration, and speed are used for each manufacturing order.

5) Using a forklift or hand lift, load materials into a blender.

6) Ensure that the correct cycle time is used for each blended batch.

7) Discharge blended material into drums and record weights.

8) Dissemble, clean, and reassemble Fitzmill, Oscillators, and blenders

9) Maintain clean machines, equipment, and department.

10) Maintain required paperwork and logs associated with the department.

11) Communicate with the Weight Room, Milling & Blending Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, and Production Manager regarding daily operations.

Marginal Functions:

1) Operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

2) Assist with training and orienting new employees.

3) Assist in other departments as needed.

4) Contribute to the maintenance of an organized department and warehouse.

Physical Requirements:

1) Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standards.

2) Bending, stooping, squatting, walking, standing, pushing and pulling manual dexterity, and large motor skills needed to work with the following tools: scoops, screen, scale, mill, granulator, spray dryer, electronic controls, mixer, blender and drums.

3) Experience with and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry it 10 yards frequently and lift up to 100 pounds and move it up to 5 yards on an occasional basis.

4) Forklift

5) Pallet jack and drums.

Work Environment:

1) May require overtime and or change of shifts during peak periods or as business needs dictate.

2) Requires compliance to all department and company Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Procedures.

3) Requires the ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, noise, chemicals, temperature variations, and varying degrees of ventilation.

4) Requires team orientation, common sense and good judgment, professional behavior, effective communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills.

5) Requires ability to take and follow directions, time management, organizational development, and improvement.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

1) Good knowledge of math including metric weights and measures,

2) Experience with and the ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.

3) Demonstrated reliability and attention to quality.

4) Experience with nutritional supplement/agricultural/food products industry preferred.

5) Experience with heavy labor and forklift preferred.
