Job Title - Quality Control / Production Support Technician


Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $21.50 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, either 4:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Position Summary

The Quality Control / Production Support Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by verifying product quality, reviewing work orders, inspecting finished and in-process materials, and ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications. This role also supports laboratory testing, defect tracking, and non-conformance reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety requirements and use required PPE.

  • Verify work orders against SOR for adhesive, woven, and unitape products.

  • Verify and approve machine setups on unitape, coater 4, coater 7, and laminator equipment.

  • Verify product meets PCC/MSC requirements.

  • Inspect product and flag defective material as needed.

  • Record inspection defect logs accurately and as required.

  • Complete DMR forms for non-conforming product.

  • Perform wash out for Fiber Area Weight (FAW) and resin content in the IP Lab to support unitape operations.

  • Perform viscosity testing on mixed resin samples.

  • Verify resin mix work orders against recipes and production schedule.

  • Maintain internal retained samples for complaint support and traceability.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, including email communication and ability to send DMR reports and quality issue updates.

  • Strong work ethic, safety-minded, and a team-oriented attitude.

  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read and understand customer specifications and test requirements, including ASTM standards.

  • Good communication, math, and organizational skills.

  • Must pass a math test; minimum passing score determined by HR.

  • Willingness to work occasional 1st or 2nd shift as needed, along with overtime.

  • Good attendance record, including limited absences and tardies.

  • Familiarity with quality control or manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to perform material calculations, including resin content percentage and fiber area weight.

  • Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Ability to work with laboratory chemicals while using required PPE.

  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality system requirements and defense customer expectations.

Schedule Flexibility

This position is primarily 1st shift, but candidates must be available to work either 4:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., depending on operational needs.
