Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality MRB Material Handler / MRB Coordinator Assistant to support the Quality department’s Material Review Board (MRB) operations. This role is integral in managing non-conforming materials, maintaining accurate traceability, and ensuring the timely processing and resolution of MRB activities. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and familiar with manufacturing processes and quality control functions.


Key Responsibilities

MRB & Nonconformance Management

  • Manage and track Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCRs), escalating issues to other departments as necessary.

  • Administer MRB processes within the MRP/ERP system to ensure accurate material control and documentation.

  • Issue Evaluation and Rework jobs for production with complete and auditable documentation.

  • Analyze MRB data to identify trends in rework, scrap, or replacement requests.

  • Communicate and expedite open MRB actions with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

  • Collaborate with Production, Assembly, and Quality Engineering teams to drive efficient MRB closure.

Material Handling & Inventory Control

  • Oversee the handling, segregation, and storage of MRB materials to ensure proper labeling and control.

  • Maintain a clearly organized MRB area with quarantined materials separated and traceable.

  • Coordinate movement and routing of discrepant materials for inspection, testing, rework, or return-to-vendor (RTV).

  • Partner with Purchasing to package and process supplier returns and ensure timely RTV closures.

  • Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy for MRB and quarantined materials.

  • Enforce compliance with company and regulatory standards for non-conforming material disposition.

Quality Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Assist the Quality team in locating, identifying, and evaluating discrepant materials.

  • Work with Quality leadership to improve MRB processes and maintain SOP compliance.

  • Participate in (or lead) MRB meetings and cross-functional rework projects.

  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment managing MRB or NCR processes.

  • Familiarity with inspection of precision parts or handling of customer return materials is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Visual or mechanical measurement experience is a plus.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent relationship-building abilities across departments.

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and proactive problem-solving.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Works independently with initiative and accountability.
